ABOUT
The Band Jam Grass Roots Music Festival is a weekend long celebration of local music and artists. It was started as a way to commemorate the yearly anniversary of the "Grass Roots Show", which airs Sunday nights
at 7pm on The Rock Station 97.7fm (WLER - Butler, PA), and as a way to showcase the incredible talent featured on this show in a "Live" setting for music lovers of all genres to enjoy.
The Festival is held at Cooper's Lake Campground, located at 205 Currie Rd in Slippery Rock, PA, right off of I-79 Exit 99 (New Castle Rd / US Route 422), and is presented this year again by WoodmenLife of Butler, PA... Standing Strong for Generations.
Cooper's Lake is the perfect place for a family friendly outdoor music festival, with over 450 acres of wooded areas and mowed fields. Amenities include over 100 electric and water hookup sites, activity areas, campground store, full bathroom facilities including showers, laundromat, picnic tables and pavillions, and a 10-acre lake for fishing and canoeing. Cooper's Lake is world renowned for such events as Pennsic, The Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival, Resonance Festival, Tough Mudder, and the Pyrotechnics Guild International Convention.
The 2024 Band Jam will take place August 22 through 25, with live music beginning Thursday the 22nd with a singer/songwriter in the round, and full bands starting at 5pm on Friday the 23rd, and again on Saturday the 24th at 11 am. There will be plenty of other activities for young and old including vendors, games, fishing, biking, and more...

what people are saying...
"I must say, this event surpassed my expectations. The setting was perfect...it's like a sort of natural amphitheater... this event features original bands, with only a few covers thrown in occasionally. Every band was spot on, and very tight. I would like to thank Utah Burgess, Bob Cupp, Lee Marks, and everyone involved for their vision, and for supporting original local artists! I am certainly going to be checking out 97.7 fm a lot more... So, in closing, I highly suggest checking this out next year if this is your cup of tea...so to speak. For the number of bands, and the price of admission....this event gets the biggest bang for the buck award of the year..."
"It's people like you that make a difference in our world .....this is motivating me to write originals....I've played about every style of music ..covers.....or at least touched on them....I have a lot to draw from now....I don't know what will come out....I figure if I just get in the process....something good should eventually come out...just need to get in the process. Thx again for everything, and for giving original artists a platform...have a great day!"
"The Band Jam Grass Roots Music Festival was awesome, straight awesome. Good music and good people made up for some great times. Anytime you can get your friends together at a magical little campground you know you are in for a treat but this being our first year up we were blown away. Bob Cupp and Utah Burgess and team at Grass Roots on The Rock Station 97.7 worked their asses off to provide an experience for everyone that trekked out for the weekend. The level of talent these guys brought out to band jam was a musicians paradise... Good music all weekend . It was great to be part of something so special. We already can't wait till next year, we wish weekends like this never had to end."
"What a great weekend! The Band Jam Grass Roots Music Festival was as good as ever. I'm really glad I got to be a part of it and I'm already excited for next year!"
"So how was the The Band Jam Grass Roots Music Festival yesterday you ask? It was Fantastic! Wow, what a great line-up of bands and great performances! Insane amount of local talent displayed. Not to mention the insane amount of support from sponsors, Lematt Productions and of course, The Rock Station 977 and Shady Lady Productions. This area is so lucky to have these great people behind all these great bands. And of course, many many thanks to all the fans that showed up and supported both Friday and Saturday. #thebandjam""
